Leonida is the setting; Vice City is part of it

Confirmed

Rockstar describes GTA VI as a story that stretches across the state of Leonida, home to Vice City and beyond. The current official synopsis places Jason and Lucia at the centre of a criminal conspiracy in that setting. Calling the whole world simply Vice City misses the wider state named in the announcement.

The official “Only in Leonida” page brings character introductions and destination links together. We use those published names as an orientation guide. This is not a measured reconstruction of the game world, and the illustration on this fan site is not a screenshot or navigational map.

The six destinations named by Rockstar

Confirmed

Rockstar’s official destination navigation names Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. The existence of these named destinations is firmer evidence than an unlabeled shape on a fan-made map. We retain the official spelling so you can match each name to the publisher’s material.

These names do not by themselves establish precise borders, how quickly you can travel between them, which interiors are accessible or when each area opens during the campaign. A named region is not a promise that every visible building can be entered.

How the people connect to the setting

Confirmed

Jason’s official biography places his work with drug runners in the Keys. Brian’s profile also connects his smuggling background and boat yard to the Keys. Boobie Ike’s biography explicitly ties his business interests to Vice City. These are story-setting connections Rockstar has chosen to reveal.

Lucia’s biography mentions her family’s days in Liberty City. That is a piece of personal history, not an announcement that Liberty City is a playable GTA VI destination. Treating every place mentioned in dialogue or a biography as a confirmed map region would create false expectations.

A full map is not a set of verified checklist coordinates

Not officially confirmed

This guide does not supply a map scale, land-area figure, percentage comparison with GTA V, road count or collectible coordinates. The official place-name and character pages cited here do not establish those measurements. Fan mapping can be interesting, but it is a reconstruction rather than an official playable-world specification.

VGC reports that Rockstar plans a printable map of Leonida as a free digital download on launch day, November 19. That is a reported future resource, not a file we claim is already available. Follow the official GTA VI site for the actual release rather than downloading a supposed early map from an unrelated mirror.

A spoiler-light way to prepare for exploration

Practical guidance

Before launch, familiarise yourself with the official names and decide how much promotional footage you want to watch. After launch, learning the in-game map and its legend is more reliable than matching real-world road layouts to trailer shots. Real-world inspiration does not establish the exact geography of a fictional state.

If you like checklists, keep personal notes about what the game actually labels and where you found it. Avoid importing unverified coordinates into a tracker: one mistaken location can waste a great deal of exploration time and can also spoil a discovery that was never real.

How our location coverage will be built

Practical guidance

Our collectibles hub intentionally contains no invented category counts or location markers. The editorial plan is to add entries only after the category, in-game name, region and directions can be checked. Story-sensitive locations should be clearly separated from general navigation advice.

Updates are editorial, not automatic. If a future guide contains coordinates, it should state which map or coordinate system is being used and link to evidence. Until that verification is possible, Coming soon is a more useful answer than a polished map full of guesses.
