GTA 6 PC System Requirements: Official Status

An honest requirements guide: what is known on consoles, why PC spec tables are not official, and where a real announcement would appear.

No official PC requirements to reproduce

Not officially confirmed

As of our November 6, 2026 review, Rockstar’s GTA VI site lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, not a PC release. The current official platform pages do not supply a Windows minimum or recommended specification sheet. We therefore do not publish a guessed CPU, GPU, RAM capacity, operating system or graphics API as a requirement.

This is a statement about the announcements reviewed, not proof that a PC version can never happen. A future platform announcement could change the answer. Until then, a console release date is not a PC release date and a fan prediction is not a specification.

What the console information actually confirms

Confirmed

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are the named launch systems. Sony also lists PS5 Pro Enhanced support and states that the game is not playable on PS4. Those facts help console owners check compatibility, but they cannot be translated into an equivalent desktop processor or graphics card.

Console hardware is a fixed platform with a particular software environment. Even if a PC component looks similar on paper, that comparison does not establish a supported GTA VI PC configuration, a performance target or a guarantee that a future port would use the same settings.

Do not recycle the console storage figure as PC specs

Confirmed

PlayStation Support asks PS5 owners to have 212 GB of free storage for preloading. VGC reports Rockstar’s broader preload statement as up to 212 GB depending on device. These are useful console preparation figures, not a published PC storage requirement.

The amount transferred, storage reserved during installation and final space occupied after updates can describe different things. We do not claim a final exact size for each console or invent a day-one patch size. Check the console’s own download and storage screens when the package becomes available.

How to recognise an actual requirements announcement

Practical guidance

Follow links from Rockstar’s own GTA VI site and Newswire rather than a cropped screenshot. A useful PC announcement would need to name the platform and supply attributable requirements. Read the complete document, its publication date and any later correction before treating a copied table as current.

If a store page eventually appears, check the publisher identity and follow the link from Rockstar. Then distinguish minimum requirements from recommended settings and any stated resolution or frame-rate target. A list headed recommended is not automatically a promise of maximum settings on every display.

  • Look for a primary Rockstar announcement, not a search-result snippet alone.
  • Keep hardware requirements separate from a release window or an executive’s general comments.
  • Preserve the original source link and date when sharing any future requirements table.

Rumored builds and release windows

Rumors — not confirmed

Any precise PC release month or minimum and recommended hardware table without a Rockstar source remains unconfirmed here. The same applies to claims that a specific graphics card guarantees a particular frame rate. We deliberately omit speculative part lists instead of making them look authoritative with a comparison table.

Past publishing patterns can inspire a forecast, but they do not set GTA VI’s schedule. If you are planning an upgrade specifically for this game, a cautious approach is to wait for official requirements and independent testing of the released PC version. That is practical advice, not a prediction that such a version has been announced.

Useful preparation without invented specifications

Practical guidance

For the confirmed console release, check your account access, system updates, available storage and download settings. Our day-one checklist covers those tasks without assuming a PC launch. Our preload guide explains why the PS5 local-time window differs from the reported simultaneous Xbox opening.

This page will only gain a PC requirements table after a verifiable official source exists. Until then, “Not officially confirmed” is the answer, not an empty space to fill with plausible-looking hardware.
